3rd Indo-German Business Forum
Successful Innovation – Competing in the Global Economy

Thursday, November 13th,2008

On November 13, 2008 Pratham e.V. held its third bi-annual Indo-German Business Forum entitled
“Successful Innovation – Competing in the Global Economy” at Stadtsparkasse Duesseldorf, Germany.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Duesseldorf, the Duesseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ETI Dynamics and Wamser+Batra GmbH.

The purpose of the forum was to promote commerce and trade by bringing together global business leaders, academicians, entrepreneurs, policy makers and students to discuss and debate pertinent issues, and innovative opportunities relating to India and Germany. Held on the eve of Children’s Day in India, the conference raised funds for Pratham e.V., a charity which aspires to educate all children in India.

The event featured keynote speeches from Ms. Smita Purushottam (Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Berlin), Mr. Walter Bender (Senior Research Scientist, MIT Media Lab, Founding Member Sugar Labs), Dr. Madhav Chavan (Founder, Pratham), and other dignitaries. There were also sector specific panels that discussed innovation across the Media & Technology, the Automotive & Engineering and the Energy & Clean Energy sector.

The event was supported by the Indian Embassy, Berlin, the London Business School, the German Indian Roundtable among others. The main sponsors of the day were Art+Com, Bird & Bird, the Lugani Group of Companies, the Horizon Group of Companies and Aengevelt Immobilien
